Pune: 145 Victims Cheated Of Rs 40 Lakhs In Chardham Yatra Scam

Dhayari, 2nd July 2023: A case has been registered against three individuals from Dreamcaster Tours and Travels for fraudulent activities related to the Chardham Yatra.

 

The complainant, Ranjit Tulshidas Pawar (38 years old, residing in Satara), alleged that he paid fifty-six thousand rupees to the accused for the yatra, which was never conducted.

 

The accused individuals have been identified as Rishikesh Ramchandra Bhadale, Sanket Ramchandra Bhadale, and Supriya Sanket Bhadale, all residents of Dhayari. Rishikesh Bhadale collected an initial booking amount of twenty-one thousand rupees from Pawar on February 26 at the Travels office near Ajinkyatara Mitra Mandal in Dhayari.

 

Sanket Bhadale gained Pawar’s trust by sending various messages regarding the Chardham Yatra. Supriya Sanket Bhadale, Sanket’s wife, then provided Pawar with a QR code and requested the remaining thirty-five thousand rupees to be sent. However, Pawar was cheated as the trip was never arranged.

 

The investigation has revealed 145 other victims who fell prey to the fraud. The total fraudulent amount is estimated to be around forty lakhs.

 

The Sinhagad police station (Pune City Police) has urged people who have been cheated in a similar manner to come forward and report the incident. Cheated individuals from Navi Mumbai, Pune, Karmala, Lonavala, and surrounding areas are encouraged to contact the authorities. Assistant Police Inspectors Bharat Chandanshiv and Satish Patil are overseeing the investigation.
