Two officers of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board caught taking bribe

Pune – Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested three persons including two government officials of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board(MPCB) for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25000 for renewal of the license regarding transport of hazardous waste.

The arrested persons are MPCB
Sub Regional Officer Prakash Prabhakar Mundhe and field officer Sandeep Baburao Shinde, and Suryakant Samant.

Superintendent of police (ACB, Pune range) Shirish Sardeshpande said, “The complainant owns a truck which carries Hazardous waste material. He had submitted online application for renewal of his permission letter from MPCB for which the arrested trio had asked for Rs 25000 as bribe. Samant was caught accepting the bribe.”

Police inspector Arun Ghodke is further investigating the case.
