Two Schools And A College In Pune Gets Three-Day Holiday Due To RSS Annual Meeting, Students Organisations Oppose The Move
Pune 14th Sept 2023: The National Annual Coordination Meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is being organized in Pune for the next three days. This meeting will take place from September 14 to 16 in the premises of S.P. College ground. A large pavilion has been erected for the meeting. As a result, two schools and one college in the vicinity have been given a three-day holiday. However, this did not go well with the student organisations as the members of Youth Congress have opposed it.
“There are many places available in Pune instead of a college ground because the students may face educational disruptions if they are given holidays for such programs. If this trend continues, tomorrow the administration may declare holidays for ten days of the Ganesh festival as well. This is not an official program of the government and hence it is wrong to announce holidays for colleges and schools for such events” said the students organisation members. Tilak Shikshanshastra College, S.P.M. English Medium School, and the Deaf and Dumb School affiliated to Shikshan Prasarak Mandal have been granted a three-day holiday.
The administration however has clarified that additional lectures were taken for these schools and a college to cover the syllabus and these holidays will not disrupt their schedule. Proper care has been taken to ensure that the students do not have to suffer with the educational loss due to this program.
It may be noted that the Annual National Coordination Meeting of RSS in Pune will be attended by prominent RSS leaders, including RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Joint General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, and BJP National President J.P. Nadda. Due to this event, strict security arrangements have been made in Pune.
