Two-Year-Old Boy Dies After Accidentally Ingesting Mosquito Repellent
Nashik, 13th March 2025: A tragic incident occurred in the Dindori Road area of Nashik, where a two-year-old boy lost his life after accidentally consuming liquid mosquito repellent at his home on Monday evening.
The child, identified as Aditya Shinde, was reportedly playing inside his house in Shinde Mala when he got hold of the bottle containing the toxic liquid. Unaware of its harmful effects, he ingested it, leading to a medical emergency.
Upon noticing his condition, his parents rushed him to a private hospital in Adgaon for treatment. However, as his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to another medical facility. Despite the doctors’ efforts, Aditya could not survive.
An officer from Adgaon police station stated, “We have registered a case of accidental death. Preliminary investigation suggests that the child consumed the repellent unknowingly while playing. This appears to be a case of unfortunate negligence.”
Authorities have urged parents to be extra cautious with household chemicals and ensure such substances are kept out of children’s reach to prevent similar incidents.
