Tyre Burst Causes Cruiser to Crash Into Truck, Three Dead on Pune–Solapur Highway
Indapur, 17th March 2026: Three employees of a private company died in a road accident on the Pune–Solapur Highway near Indapur on Tuesday morning after a Cruiser vehicle collided with an oncoming truck, police said.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred near Loni Devkar when the tyre of the Cruiser burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle reportedly crossed the divider and rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the front portion of the Cruiser completely mangled. All three occupants of the vehicle died on the spot.
Police said the victims were travelling in the Cruiser and were reportedly employed at a private company in the MIDC area of Loni Devkar. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and efforts are underway to establish their identities.
The accident led to a major traffic jam on the busy Pune–Solapur Highway for some time. Police later cleared the damaged vehicles from the road with the help of a crane and restored traffic movement.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. Initial findings suggest that the tyre burst caused the vehicle to veer out of control, cross the divider, and collide head-on with the truck.
