Uber Launches EV Auto Rickshaw Service in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, 14th January 2024: Uber, India’s leading ride-hailing app, inaugurated its EV auto-rickshaw service in the holy city of Ayodhya, with the honorable Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagging off the initiative. This introduction falls under the popular category, Uber Auto, demonstrating Uber’s commitment to providing convenient, affordable, and sustainable mobility solutions in anticipation of increased footfall to the sacred city.

 

In addition to the launch of EV Autos, Uber is set to commence operations of UberGo, its most economical car product, and Uber Intercity, a rapidly growing mobility product catering to inter-city travel needs to and from Ayodhya to popular destinations within Uttar Pradesh. This comprehensive approach aims to connect Ayodhya with various destinations, making a significant contribution to tourism, travel, and economic growth in Uttar Pradesh.

 

The strategic expansion into Ayodhya aligns with Uber’s growth plans in India and exemplifies the company’s ‘India to Bharat’ strategy, aiming to extend its presence and product offerings to diverse regional markets. Uber has consistently implemented innovative technology-driven solutions to enhance safety for both riders and drivers, including features like in-app SOS and location sharing.
