Urja Mahotsav Sees Impressive Performances By Young Musicians

Pune, 23 January 2023: The powerful and diverse performances of young musicians became the special attraction of Urja Mahotsav; a youth music festival, which was organized in association with Avartan Gurukul of Pune, Neel Dixit and Kaveri Kalakshetra of Kannada Sangh, Pune to provide a platform to young artistes.

The festival saw Kathak dances by Shraddha Mukhde and Shreya Kulkarni, a solo Tabla performance by Hemant Joshi and performances by Dr. Shantanu Gokhale on Santoor and Vocalist Gandhar Deshpande.

Talyogi Padmashri Pt Suresh Talwalkar, Guru Pt Ramdas Palasule, Nritya Guru Shama Bhate, Govind Bedekar, Sharangdhar Sathe, Varsha Paranjpe, Sharang Natu, Vinay Gargate, Shirish Kaulgud, Anita Sanjeev, Srikanth Shirolkar and Neel Dixit were present on this occasion.

Shraddha Mukhde and Shreya Kulkarni started their Kathak dance with Krishna Vandana, after which they performed Zap Taal, ‘Baje Muraliya Baje…’ a Krishna Bhajan and Chaturanga from Des Raag. They were accompanied by Amey Deshpande (Tabla), Yashwant Thitte (Harmonium), Amira Patankar (Lecturer) and Shubham Khandalkar (Vocal). After this, Hemant Joshi performed a Tabla solo. He won the hearts of the audience with his valiant presentation of Teen Taal. He was accompanied by Yashwant Thitte.

After this, Dr. Shantanu Gokhale enthralled the audience with the performance on Santoor playing Raag Rageshwari. He concluded his performance with Pahari Dhun and was accompanied by Ajinkya Joshi. The festival concluded with the performance of young vocalist, Gandhar Deshpande who gave a powerful rendition of Raag Kedar and Raag Rageshree Bahar. He concluded his singing with Nirguni Bhajan. He was accompanied by Sriraj Tamhankar (Tabla) andAmey Bichu (Harmonium).
