Vadgaon Sheri Area To Get Water Supply From Bhama-Askhed Dam Soon; Tanker Traders Unhappy
Pune, October 7, 2020: On the occasion of Diwali, Vadgaon Sheri constituency residents will get water from Bhama-Askhed dam. “This will help to solve the problem of water scarcity in the area. It will also help in saving lakhs of rupees of the societies ordering tankers of water”, said Sunil Tingre, MLA of Vadgaon Sheri constituency.
Tingre informed, “The work of Bhama Askhed water project has reached its final stage. Only 300 meters from Kelgaon, 30 meters from Vidhate Vasti and 100 meters from Shankar Pathare in Charholi are left. Therefore, the work will be completed in the next ten to fifteen days. After that, the water supply and its pressure will be tested for a month. On November 14, the day of Lakshmi Pujan in Diwali, water will be supplied to the residents of Vadgaon Sheri constituency at sufficient pressure.”
Vadgaon Sheri constituency is densely populated with housing societies. Societies were not getting water supply under adequate pressure so they had to take water by ordering water tankers, and these tankers were making commercial profits. Currently, many people in the constituency have to stay awake at night as the water supply is scheduled at night time.
“Tanker traders have been upset as the Bhama Askhed project is nearing completion. As water is an intimate need for all, it was given priority. It could be a Diwali gift for these residents”, he added
