Valentine’s Day Sees Surge in Registered Marriages; 35 Couples Set To Tie the Knot In Pune

Pune, 13th February 2025: Valentine’s Day, a celebration of love, has become an increasingly popular date for couples to formalize their relationships through registered marriages. This year, around 35 couples have pre-registered at the City Marriage Registration Office to tie the knot on 14th February.

Pre-registrations for Valentine’s Day weddings began nearly a 1.5 months ago, and the registration office at Photozinco is expected to witness a heavy turnout on Friday. The rising preference for registered marriages is attributed to the straightforward process under the Special Marriage Act, which eliminates lengthy formalities.

Officials have made special arrangements to accommodate the surge in registrations and ensure that marriage certificates are issued immediately.
