Valuables Worth Rs. 1.70 Lakh Stolen During Ahmednagar-Pune Carpool Journey

Pimpri, 25th April 2024: A woman’s carpooling journey in Pune turned into a costly ordeal when belongings worth more than Rs. 1.70 lakh were stolen from her. She was travelling in a private eco-car on April 22nd, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 2 PM, between Ahmednagar and Chinchwad.

Kunda Uday Namde, aged 41 and a resident of Mohan Nagar, Chinchwad complained to the Pimpri Police Station regarding this incident. The Pimpri Police have registered a case against the unknown thief.

The complainant travelled from Ahmednagar to Chinchwad, using two buses—a carpooling service from Ahmednagar to Pune and a municipal bus for local travel. During her journey, an unknown thief took advantage of the situation and deceived the woman by stealing a small purse from her larger one. The stolen items included gold jewellery worth Rs. 1,65,000 and Rs. 5,500 in cash, totalling Rs. 1,70,500.

Pimpri Police have registered a case under IPC Section 379 (theft) against the unknown thief, and Constable Bhosale from Pimpri Police Station is leading the investigation into this matter.
