Varandha Ghat Route Closed Until May 30 for Roadworks, Pune to Raigad Travel Affected

Pune/Raigad, 9th April 2024: The Varandha Ghat route from Pune to Mahad via Bhor will be inaccessible until May 30, as announced by authorities. This closure encompasses the 21-kilometer stretch within the Raigad district.

The roadworks in Varandha Ghat, including resurfacing, construction of protective barriers, and implementation of necessary safety measures, necessitate the temporary cessation of all traffic for safety reasons.

These directives were issued by the Raigad Collectorate, following consultations with the Raigad Superintendent of Police and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Their feedback indicated no objections to the closure, prompting the decision.

Travellers bound for Mahad and Konkan are advised to explore alternative routes such as Tamhini Ghat and Ambenali Ghat during this period.
