Veteran Artists to give special education in various art forms

Pune, 29th September, 2017: Learning several art forms has always been a hobby for many. Getting primary training in applied arts and classical art forms is also not difficult but in today’s time it is important to have a professional edge to develop it into a career. So, with the aim of providing holistic training and professional finesse to aspiring students in different types of art forms, an academy named ‘The Heritage – The Art Legacy’ will be launched in the city announced Santosh Potdar, Founder of the Academy during a Press Conference.

Many notified personas such as the eminent Classical vocalist Pt. Shaunak Abhisheki, renowned Calligrapher Achyut Palav and Dr. Amruta Chandorakar to name a few were present on this occasion. The Inauguration of the Academy will be done at the hands of acclaimed actress, Mrunal Kulkarni.

This Art school will be based in one of the prime localities in the city- Paud Road. Here, the aspirants will get the opportunity to learn art forms such as Photography, Calligraphy, Classical Dance and Music under the guidance of veteran artists from the respective fields. The institute will also conduct few special workshops and cultural programs under the same roof.

Several legendary artists of the city will be personally mentoring and training the students in this academy. Indian Classical Music will be taught by Pt. Shaunak Abhisheki and Sawani Shende. Shridhar Phadke will teach Semi-Classical Music, while Sharvari Jamenis will teach Kathak. Padmashree Raghu Rai will train Photography aspirants. Achyut Palav will conduct courses on Calligraphy and Pt. Bhavani Shankar will teach Pakhawaj, Percussion and Bollywood Rhythm.

Apart from being the founder, Mr.Potdar has also conceptualised this unique platform. Explaining the concept of the Academy, Potdar said that, “We are glad to start an Academy that will hone the skills of students passionate about art and music by giving a professional edge to their learning. It will be an achievement to see the students in our Academy flourish and convert their hobbies into a profession.”

Pt. Shaunak Abhisheki said while expressing gratitude, “I am happy that such an academy is starting in Pune and I am more than pleased to be able to impart my knowledge to the budding artists.”

“Art is learnt best when felt with heart and taken as a subject and career of choice, which is also the philosophy of this art school. I am happy to be a part of such an institute and teach like minded aspirants,” said well-known Calligrapher Achyut Palav.
