Pune, 21st April 2024: In a terrifying incident early Sunday morning at around 2:20 AM, a private bus traveling on the Mumbai-Pune expressway near Khopoli burst into flames while navigating the ghat section. The bus, bearing the registration number MH 01 CR 8585 and heading towards Pune from Mumbai, suddenly caught fire near the Khandala Ghat in Khopoli.
Fortunately, all passengers on board were able to swiftly evacuate the bus, averting any loss of life or injuries. Immediate action was taken as emergency services were alerted promptly, including the fire brigade and other authorities, who rushed to the scene.
