Vocalist Anand Bhate to be felicitated with ‘Vaishnav Puraskar’
Pune, June 27, 2019 : Hindustani music stalwart Anand Bhate is going to be felicitated with the prestigious ‘Vaishnav Puraskar’ which is awarded each year in the memory of Vishwanath Maharaj Ingale, a renowned name in Warkari Community.
The award will be given in the yearly music program ‘Namacha Gajar’ organized by Kalashri Sangeet Mandal and ABIL, featuring songs of Warkari community, specially Abhangas. The program will be held on July 5, 2019, at 5.30pm, at MES Balshikshan Auditorium, Mayur Colony, Kothrud. Entry to the program is free and open for all. This is the 4th year of this award. The award consists of Rs. 11 Thousand along with citation.
Bhate is a disciple of legendary Vocalist Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. The national award-winning vocalist is famous for his unique singing style and skill in Natya Sangeet and Abhangas along with the classical vocal. He is felicitated with the national award for his outstanding vocal playback in the movie ‘Balgandharv’.
