Wagholi: From Tomorrow, 5 Days Janta Curfew in Wagholi

Wagholi, September 11, 2020: Against the backdrop of increasing Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Wagholi, the Gram Panchayat has called for a five- days ‘Janta Curfew’ which will be observed from September 12 to September 17.

Vasundhara Ubale, Sarpanch, Wagholi said, “I appeal people to abide by the administrative rules, to stay at home and cooperate to control the further spread of COVID in Wagholi region. Those who are working outside, try to stay outside or at their workplaces.”

While the COVID patients in the Wagholi region have reached 924, with almost 210 patients found positive in the last five days, this has caused fear amongst the people of Wagholi. Therefore, an emergency meeting was held on Wednesday. During this meeting, various measures were discussed to stop further contamination, and the committee members have decided to call for a voluntary curfew from September 12 to 17. The meeting was attended by Sarpanch Vasundhara Ubale, Deputy Sarpanch Malati Gogavale, Police inspector Pratap Mankar of Lonikand police station, and other members as well.

Following rules are to be strictly implemented

  • All shops/businesses will be closed entirely, including groceries and vegetable shops.
  • Coming or travelling outside of the village area will be restricted.
  • All roads connecting to Nagar road (highway) will be restricted as well.
  • Weddings, birthday, parties or group gatherings are strictly prohibited.

Exemptions

  • Medical services, dispensaries, hospitals will continue to function regularly.
  • Milk diaries will be open from 7 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.
  • Flour mills will be open from 7 am to 11 am.
  • Essential services will continue to remain open.

The Corona Monitoring Committee and the police will take strict legal action against those who do not abide by the rules of the ‘Bandh’.
