Wakad: Man Beaten Up For Honking Repeatedly

Pune, December 28, 2020: A 27-year-old truck driver was allegedly robbed and beaten up for honking as a car was parked in front of his truck.

The accused identified are Nitin Avtade (35) and Arbaaz Shaikh (23); both are arrested by police. According to police, the victim identified as Jagdish Nyaneshwar Totre was traveling on Bangalore-Mumbai Highway on Sunday. A car was parked in front of his truck at Service Road under Wakad Bridge. To move the car and get a side to park, Totre repeatedly honked.

The duo accused who were standing behind the car got furious and threw stones at the victim. They then threw a glass bottle and injured Totra. As Totre got out of the truck, the accused kicked and punched the victim. Avtade and Shaikh forcibly entered the truck and took away Rs 23,000 kept in a box in the cabin of the truck. Hinjewadi police is probing into the matter.
