Wakad: Policeman Caught Accepting Rs 50,000 Bribe To Help In 498 Case

Pune, February 22, 2021: A policeman of Pimpri Chinchwad Police was caught red-handed by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

 

An FIR has been now registered against Police Naik Sachin Jadhav at Wakad police station.

 

According to ACB, Jadhav is posted with Wakad police station. There is a case registered against the complainant and his family members for offence under section 498A (harassment of married woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He has obtained anticipatory bail from the court.

 

To complete the arrest formalities and submitting a chargesheet soon, Policeman Jadhav allegedly demanded Rs two lakh. After negotiation the amount was brought down to Rs 50,000.

 

Meanwhile, the complainant informed the Pune unit of the ACB. Accordingly, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the policeman red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 today.
