Pimpri-Chinchwad, 21st June 2025: A routine disagreement escalated into a violent assault in Chinchwad’s Shantiban Society late Friday night, where a watchman was critically injured in a knife attack. The shocking incident was caught on CCTV, enabling Chinchwad Police to identify and arrest the accused swiftly.

The victim, identified as Sudam Narayan Kamithe, is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital and remains in critical condition. The accused, Ram Deoram Londhe, was apprehended from the Thergaon area within hours of the attack.

According to police officials, Sudam Kamithe has served as a security guard at Shantiban Society for several years. The attacker, Ram Londhe, formerly employed in the society’s housekeeping team, had resigned but continued to visit the premises regularly for car washing work—something Kamithe strongly objected to.

Repeated arguments between the two over Londhe’s presence in the society led to heightened tension. On Friday evening, around 9 PM, Londhe approached Kamithe under the pretext of a conversation. Without warning, he pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen.

As Kamithe attempted to resist, Londhe allegedly picked up a cement brick and struck him on the head, leaving him unconscious and bleeding at the scene.

Soon after the incident, Londhe fled the spot but was tracked down by police using CCTV footage and arrested from nearby Thergaon. Police say the assault appears to be premeditated, and further investigation is underway to determine whether additional motives or influences were involved.
