Pune 15th July 2023: Less rainfall reported in the catchment areas in Pune has reduced the water storage in the dams supplying water to the district. The water levels in these dams now falls far behind compared to the last year’s storage during the same period.

According to the official data, the water levels at four dams Khadakwasla, Panshet, Warasgaon and Temghar has reached 29.55% compared to 57.24% reported on July 16 last year. The four dams now have 8.61 TMC water compared to 16.68 TMC it had during the same period last year.

The low water levels in these dams has raised concerns for the citizens as this could lead to water cut if the district does not witness a good rainfall in the coming days.

Khadakwasla 0.94 TMC (47.70%)

Panshet 3.23 TMC (30.29%)

Warasgaon 3.81 TMC (29.73%)
