Weaving Traditions: Dastakari Haat’s New Year Expo Brings Kashmir to Pune
Pune 25th December 2023: The much-anticipated ‘Dastakari Haat – Kashmir Expo,’ a distinctive New Year exhibition featuring an array of clothing, carpets, handicrafts, and dry fruits from Kashmir, has commenced at Congress Bhavan in Shivaji Nagar, Pune. The exhibition is set to captivate visitors until January 7, 2024, with operating hours from 11 am to 9 pm.
An impressive showcase awaits attendees, featuring a diverse range of items, including sarees, dresses, suits, kurtis, shawls, and woolen products. Notably, the exhibition boasts a dedicated section catering to Non-Resident Indians.
The exhibition highlights a rich display of Silk sarees, chanderi fabric, muga silk, kosa silk, kalamkari sarees, banarasi silk sarees, kurtis, and bed sheets. Of special interest are the exquisite Shawls, stoles, pashmina, woolen products, and carpets designed for the winter season, all sourced directly from Kashmir. This unique platform brings together skilled weavers from Kashmir, offering a diverse array of products all under one roof.
