Web Series Inspires Grisly Murder In Pune, Rural Police Arrest Accused
Pune, 6th June 2023: A shocking case of a murder involving a minor girl and her mother has been uncovered, revealing a grisly act committed by the girl’s boyfriend in a fit of rage due to her father’s disapproval of their relationship.
The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Pune Rural Police, in collaboration with the Shikrapur Police Station, has successfully arrested the accused responsible for the crime, who attempted to destroy evidence by dousing the victims’ bodies in petrol and setting them on fire. Investigations have revealed that the accused drew inspiration from various crime web series, utilizing stabbing as the method of murder.
During a press conference, Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal revealed that in the absence of substantial evidence, the police diligently scrutinized footage from 230 CCTV cameras over a span of five days to crack the case. Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar and Police Inspector Pramod Kshirsagar were also present during the briefing.
The accused individuals have been identified as Agnel Joy Kasbe (23 years old, hailing from Vadgaon Sheri) and Sandra Johnson Lobo (43 years old, residing in Vadgaon Sheri). The deceased victim has been identified as Johnson Cajiton Lobo (49) of Vadgaon Sheri.
The incident, involving the murder and subsequent burning of the bodies, occurred within the limits of Sanswadi village in Shirur taluka on June 1. Due to the extensive burns, the identification of the victims was challenging. A murder case was registered at the Shikrapur police station. The cops meticulously reviewed the footage captured by 230 CCTV cameras spanning from Shikrapur to Chandannagar Vadgaon Sheri area. It was during this process that a vehicle linked to the crime was identified.
Subsequently, Joy Kasbe was detained by the police. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in Johnson’s murder, with assistance from Sandra.
The investigation was conducted under supervision of Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal, Additional SP Mitesh Ghate, Sub-Divisional Officer Yashwant Gawari and Sub-Divisional Officer Swapnil Jadhav.
The team included Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar, Police Inspector Pramod Kshirsagar, Assistant Police Inspector Vaibhav Pawar, Assistant Police Inspector Mahadev Shelar, Assistant Police Inspector Nitin Atkare, Sub-Inspectors Ganesh Jagdale, Abhijit Sawant, and Amol Khatavkar, as well Tushar Pandare, Jitendra Pansare, Janardhan Shelke, Raju Momin, Yogesh Nagargoje, Amol Dandge, Srimant Honmane, Vikas Patil, Shivaji Chitare, Nikhil Rawde, Kishore Shivankar, Sachin Holkar, and Chandrakant Kale.
