Weekend Lockdown: PMC, PCMC Issue Revised Guidelines, Read In Detail About Some Relaxations

Pune, 9th April 2021: The strict lockdown has begun from 6 pm today (Friday) and it will continue till Monday 7 am. Except for essential services and those given relaxations, other people are not allowed to step out of the home.

Today both Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) issued revised orders about some relaxations.

1) Students / Examiners for all types of examinations / competitive examinations will be allowed to travel from home to examination centre/examination centre to home from Monday to Friday from 6 pm to 7 am and during weekend curfew from 6 pm Friday to 7 am on Monday.  A parent along with the examinee will also be allowed to travel. The candidate/student has to carry the exam hall ticket.

2) All shops except medical and milk shops will be closed from 6 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday. Milk shops will be open from 6 am to 11 am.

3) All types of online service providers (e-commerce), food aggregators like Swiggy, Zomato etc will be allowed to travel all days of the week. During the curfew period from 6 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday, citizens will not be allowed to go to the hotel and collect parcels. Home delivery parcel services will continue through hotels, restaurants, bars.

4) Domestic workers, drivers, cooks as well as caretaker, nurses providing services to senior citizens and sick people will be allowed to travel from 7 am to 10 pm on all days of the week to serve the people.

5) Due to competitive examination, all the mess will be allowed to provide parcel service from 7 am to 8 pm.

7) Construction work can be continued on weekends at the construction sites where the workers are accommodated.

8) Home delivery of alcohol will be allowed from 7 am to 6 pm from Monday to Friday as per the rules of the State Excise Department.

9) Spectacle shops will be open from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.

10) Public transport (PMPML bus service) will be closed on weekends except for essential services. However, taxi services like Ola and Uber will continue for essential reasons.

11) Industries/establishments which have been allowed to remain open have to ensure that their workers have got vaccine as per Government of India eligibility criteria, else they have to carry negative COVID19 certificate through RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test. Pune: Know Details How Industries Can Function During Lockdown
