What’s Coming Up at Pune’s Shivsrushti? Rs 438-Crore Project Targets 2028 Completion
Katraj, 5th October 2026: Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade today visited Shivsrushti, a historical and cultural project being developed by Maharaja Shivchhatrapati Pratishthan at Ambegaon Budruk in Pune. Western Maharashtra Prant Sanghchalak Nana Jadhav, Shivsrushti trustees Jagdish Kadam and Vineet Kuber, advisors Manoj Pochat and Sandeep Jadhav, and Shivsrushti administrative officer Anil Pawar and Richa Limaye Girgaonkar were present on the occasion.
The winners of a video-making competition organised to create greater awareness about Shivsrushti among Shivaji Maharaj enthusiasts across Maharashtra were felicitated by Bagade. Siddhesh Chavan won the first prize, Dheeraj Hemgude secured the second prize, while Samruddhi Mungse stood third. Special mention prizes were awarded to Kadambari Akolkar, Adinath Kanake, Aarush Sharma and Harshada Desai.
Speaking on the occasion, Haribhau Bagde said that Shivsrushti would emerge as a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors who would get an opportunity to understand the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his style of governance. He recalled the contribution of Babasaheb Purandare, who devoted his life to taking the history of Shivaji Maharaj to households across Maharashtra. From 1960-61 onwards, Purandare travelled across the state delivering lectures, which helped spread greater awareness about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj among the people.
Expressing his happiness and satisfaction after visiting Shivsrushti, Bagade appreciated the project and said it was important to take the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj—an unparalleled leader—and the story of the establishment of Hindavi Swarajya to the people. He also assured all possible assistance and cooperation for promoting the project and its future development.
In his introductory remarks, Jagdish Kadam said the Shivsrushti project, being developed in five phases, involves an investment of Rs 438 crore. Two phases have been completed and inaugurated. He said the third phase is planned to be inaugurated on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti next year. “Our aim is to complete all five phases of the Shivsrushti project by 2028 and bring the entire project to completion,” Kadam said.
