WhatsApp’s rival Signal app down; Users are facing troubles, know the reason here

New Delhi, January 16, 2021: Ever since WhatsApp launched its new privacy policy, people started downloading the Signal app which has emerged as WhatsApp’s big rival. However, the Signal app being down worldwide has been reported on Friday. Site Status tracker DownDetector has also reported the Signal being down. The users could not send messages and faced trouble due to the issue.
The news of the Signal app being down started circulating around 8.30 pm on Friday. After this, Signal App COO Aruna Harder confirmed that there had been heavy traffic on the Signal app, due to which the Signal app has been temporarily down. She said that they are working fast to fix this problem and it will be rectified soon.
She said, “New servers are being added and we are increasingly engaged in this work day and night. Trouble has been caused, as many new users are signing on to the app. However, the issue of the downing of the Signal app has been rectified in some parts.”
These days the Signal app is popular across the world, including India. The Signal app accounts for 30% of total growth. Of this, 16 percent is from India alone. After WhatsApp introduced its new privacy policy, Signal App became the people’s choice. Talking about downloading the Signal app in India, the download has increased by 79 percent from 1 January 2021 to 7 January 2021.
According to the Sensor Tower report, from 6 January 2021 to 10 January 2021, Signal App has been installed around 7.5 million times this week compared to the previous week, which is 4200 percent more.
