Pune, 8th August 2025: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) will run a special ‘Lucky-Draw’ scheme for women passengers on August 9, 2025, to mark the Raksha Bandhan festival. The initiative has been conceptualised by PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Pankaj Deore and aims to add a festive touch for daily commuters.

PMPML operates buses across Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, suburbs and PMRDA areas, carrying 11–12 lakh passengers daily, including around 4–4.5 lakh women. The transport body said it has consistently worked to offer safe, affordable and convenient travel options for women.

How to Participate
Women passengers holding a printed ticket or daily pass purchased from conductors, via UPI, or through the PMPML mobile app on August 9 will be eligible. Seventeen winners will be chosen through a computerised lottery.

Participants can enter by:
Online – Scanning the QR code displayed inside buses and filling out the digital form.
Offline – Collecting a coupon from the conductor, filling it out, and dropping it in the designated box on the bus.

Only one entry per mobile number per ticket is allowed. The ticket number and last four digits of the Aadhaar card must be mentioned in the form. Incorrect or incomplete details, or failure to present the ticket/pass, will lead to disqualification.

Winners will receive:
A Paithani saree from Kalakshetram Silk and Sarees
A one-month free bus pass from PMPML

Radio Mirchi 98.3 is the radio partner for the campaign and is actively promoting the scheme.

Terms and Conditions
PMPML employees and their families are ineligible.
PMPML reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the scheme.

PMPML has appealed to women commuters to participate in large numbers, calling it a way to make this Raksha Bandhan in Pune more memorable for daily bus travellers.
