With Love NGO’s Green Ganpati: Where Festivity Meets Seva

Pune, 10th September 2026: This Ganesh Chaturthi, With Love NGO, Pune, reimagined the way we celebrate Ganpati Bappa-bringing sustainability, creativity, inclusion and compassion under one roof.

To promote mindful festivities, the NGO organized an eco-friendly Ganpati idol-making workshop, where families sculpted their own Ganpati Bappa idols using shaadu mati, a natural clay that dissolves easily in water and is kinder to the environment. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music and the joy of creating, as parents and children came together to shape their idols with their own hands.

“This was more than just an art activity. It was about helping the younger generation understand that true devotion honours not just the deity, but also Mother Earth. Watching families connect through this experience was deeply moving,” shared Dimple Somji, Founder of With Love NGO.

The workshop welcomed patients from Prakash Holistic Health Care Center, for whom the experience became a therapeutic way of engaging with culture, creativity and nature. “It was a healing activity, allowing participants to celebrate while embracing sustainability,” remarked Dr. Nidhi.

But the celebration did not stop at clay and colours. For every idol created, one Joybag-a bundle filled with essential food grains-was gifted to children with intellectual disabilities, ensuring that their festive season too was filled with dignity, nourishment and cheer. The owner of the residential home whose students received the Joybags shared: “For many of these children, Ganesh Chaturthi would have passed without a celebration. Now, thanks to this thoughtful initiative, our home is filled with joy.”

With Love also took the celebration a step further by extending the workshop to underserved children living with diabetes. Often, children from vulnerable communities miss out on creative and festive experiences that many others take for granted. The NGO wanted to change that by bringing Ganpati-making directly to them and creating a space where they could participate, create and celebrate too. The workshop became an opportunity not only to introduce them to an eco-conscious way of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, but also to remind them that festivals, creativity and joy should be accessible to every child.

“This initiative represents the true spirit of festivity,” Dimple added. “When we teach children that their joy is connected to the joy of others, we create a ripple of kindness that lasts far beyond the festival.”

Through initiatives like these, With Love NGO continues to create customized experiences that combine creativity with compassion, making seva a part of everyday celebrations.
