Woman’s Body Found in Sack on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Police Probe Underway

Talegaon Dabhade, 25th November 2024: On the Mumbai-Pune Expressway (Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway), near Shirgaon Phata close to Talegaon Dabhade, a woman’s dead body was found in a sack under suspicious circumstances today. The identity of the woman remains unknown. According to the Pimpri Chinchwad Police, further details will be ascertained following the post-mortem examination.

The body, estimated to belong to a woman aged 30-40 years, was discovered around 12:30 PM, approximately 100 meters from the Somatane Exit of the expressway. It was in a bad condition, making identification challenging. The woman was wearing red leggings and a polka-dotted kurta. Officials from Talegaon Dabhade Police Station, operating under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC), were present at the scene, and the body was sent for autopsy. The process of registering a case is currently underway.

Senior Police Inspector Pradeep Rayannavar told Punekar News, “The body has been sent to the Primary Health Centre in Talegaon Dabhade for post-mortem. Since the body was found in suspicious circumstances, the autopsy is crucial to assess further details. Please contact us if you have any information regarding the deceased.”
