Pune, 14th December 2023: In a highly anticipated move, Yamaha is gearing up to launch two dynamic motorcycles, the YZF R3 and the MT-03, in the Indian market on December 15. These much-awaited releases promise to revitalize the competitive landscape in the Indian biking sphere.

The YZF R3 is poised to challenge the recently launched Aprilia RS 457, along with the well-established contenders such as the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and the KTM RC 390. On the other hand, the MT-03 is expected to go head-to-head against the likes of the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G310 R, and TVS Apache RTR 310.

Both motorcycles share a robust 321cc, parallel-twin engine that generates an impressive power output of 42bhp and 29.6Nm torque. This formidable powertrain is coupled with a seamless six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, ensuring an exhilarating riding experience. Notably, these models boast LED headlamps and tail lamps, accompanied by an LCD display, albeit lacking Bluetooth connectivity—a feature present in many of their rivals.

Despite their exceptional performance, the Yamaha R3 and MT-03 fall slightly short in terms of features when compared to their counterparts in the market.

Yamaha has retained the existing hardware for these models, including 17-inch wheels, USD forks upfront, and a monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking prowess is secured by single disc brakes at both ends, complemented by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.

Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting these new releases can find them at select Blue Square showrooms, with deliveries slated to commence early next year. Although specific pricing details have yet to be officially confirmed, industry speculations suggest the Yamaha R3 could hover around the Rs 4.20 lakh mark, while the MT-03 might come in slightly lower.
