Yellow Alert Issued for Pune as Low Pressure Area Causes Rainy Weather
Pune, 4th May 2023: Pune district is expected to experience moderate to light rain with gusty winds from May 4 to 6, according to a yellow alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The region has been experiencing rainy and windy weather in recent days, with daytime temperatures increasing. The alert warns of gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour.
A low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is causing the weather conditions. The Meteorological Department official further stated that there may be rain in Maharashtra for the next two to three days due to this low pressure area.
Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra are also expected to experience light to moderate rainfall with cloudy conditions today. A low pressure area is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal on May 6, with indications of cyclone formation afterward.
Pune district residents are advised to take precautions during this period of inclement weather.
