Youth Arrested For Koyta Attack Near Sinhgad College In Pune; Paraded By Police At Crime Scene

Katraj, 16th April 2025: In a dramatic crackdown, the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have arrested a 20-year-old man who terrorized the Sinhgad College area in Pune’s Katraj locality with a Koyta. The accused, Tanmay Sakharam Bhuyari, originally from Buldhana and currently residing in the Sinhgad Campus at Vadgaon, was paraded at the crime scene by the police as a stern warning to others.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 6 am on 8th April near the gate of Chandragaon Capital, a major building in the Sinhgad College vicinity, which typically sees heavy pedestrian movement. Bhuyari, along with an accomplice, allegedly attacked a young man who had stopped for tea, using a Koyta to assault him.
Following the attack, special police teams were dispatched to multiple locations to track down the accused. Bhuyari was apprehended within a few hours, and an investigation into the motive and his accomplices is currently underway.
Police have confirmed that further interrogation is in progress and additional arrests may follow.
