Youth Create Ruckus In Bihar Against Agneepath Scheme; Train Stopped In Buxar Due To Protests

Buxar (Bihar), 15th June 2022: A day after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the Agneepath scheme for firefighters, there has been a ruckus in different cities of Bihar. The youth of Bihar are upset with the Agneepath scheme launched by the government for recruitment in the army. Youth preparing for army recruitment in Buxar have disrupted the operation of trains, then have started fires in Muzaffarpur. There are disturbances in Begusarai too.
In Muzaffarpur, the administration drove away the youth who were creating a ruckus near the Army Recruitment Board. After this, the angry candidates reached Chakkar Chowk and blocked the traffic by burning tires on the road there.
After leaving here, they reached the Bhagwanpur Chowk and started a ruckus there. The youth who are making a ruckus say that even after passing the physical efficiency test for recruitment in the army two years ago, they have not got a job.
They say that they are tired of going to the Army Recruiting Office for two years, but there’s no answer from them. The youth said that a memorandum has also been given to the DM many times. They said that their age is passing for the job and recruitment in the army has been stopped.
The administration tried to restore traffic in Muzaffarpur by lathi-charging.
Students have created a lot of ruckus at the Buxar railway station of Patna Junction. More than a hundred students sat on the railway track and blocked the track for about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, the Jan Shatabdi Express stood at Buxar for about 25 minutes due to track jam. However, after a lot of persuasion by Railway Protection Force (RPF) in-charge Deepak Kumar and Government Railway Police, Station House Officer (GRP SHO) Ramashish Prasad, who were present on the spot, the students left the track.
GRP SHO denied rumors about students pelting stones on the Patliputra Express passing through Buxar.
There has also been a ruckus in Begusarai city of Bihar. The NCC students and students preparing for army recruitment have blocked th Har-Har Mahadev Chowk. These youths have brought banners with them. The banner reads that the old recruitment process should be started by withdrawing the Agneepath scheme.
