Zerodha CEO, Nikhil Kamath seek apologies for using unfair means to defeat Chess legend, Viswanatham Anand

New Delhi, 14th June 2021: The co-founder and CEO of start-up Zerodha, Nikhil Kamath played a game of chess with Five-time world champion Viswanatham Anand on Sunday, and defeated the chess master.
However, the All India Chess Federation (AICF) secretary Bharat Chauhan said, “It is unfortunate to see how Zerodha co-founder had manipulated the game to win for a charity chess game and it shouldn’t have happened.”
Nikhil took to Twitter, apologizing for the unfair chess win, he also admitted that he took the help of a few people and computers to analyse the game. He further added, “It is ridiculous that so many are thinking that I really beat Vishy in a chess game, that is almost like me waking up and winning a 100m race with Usain Bolt.”
The Chess master Viswanathan tweeted, “yesterday was a celebrity simul for people to raise the money it was a fun experience upholding the ethics of the game. I just played the position on board and expected the same from everyone.”
The chess program was organised to raise funds for the Covid-19- the checkmate Covid programme, and celebrities like Amir Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, songwriter and composer Arijit Singh were also present at the event to support the initiative.
