Zingers Clinch Poona Club Golf League 2026 Title, End Healyos’ Three-Year Reign
Pune, 27th January 2026: Zingers emerged champions of the Poona Club Golf League (PGL) 2026, finishing on top of the leaderboard at the Yerwada Golf Course on Sunday. The league was presented by Ducati Legacy Motors.
Zingers topped the standings with 24 points, ahead of Jaguars who secured 18.5 points, while Aadvani Super Kings claimed third place with 17.5 points.
The victory was particularly significant as it brought an end to Healyos’ dominance, who had won the PGL title three consecutive times. Zingers displayed consistency and composure throughout the season, backed by sharp putting, precise shot-making, and strong teamwork across all divisions.
Commenting on the success of the league, Indraneel Mujgule, Chairman of PGL 2026 and Vice President of The Poona Club Ltd, said that the tournament once again showcased the spirit of competitive yet inclusive golf at the Club, adding that the standard of play continues to rise each year and Zingers’ performance reflected true teamwork and preparation.
The championship-winning Zingers squad comprised Sumedh Gangal, Saurabh Roy, Annika Kanitkar, Ruhan Gulati, Sachin Gangal, Gaurav Pandit, Prakash Tolani, Vikram Kulkarni, Rishikesh Dandekar, Neeraj Gulati, Arun Verma, Vismay Dhonsale, Murari Potnis, Prashantini Jachak, S. Shriram, Mahesh Dalvi, and Col. Anurag. The team is owned by Sumedh Gangal, Sachin Gangal, Deepali Gandhi, and Anand Gandhi, and was coached by Umesh Tatkare, who credited the collective effort and discipline of the squad for the title-winning campaign.
Gaurav Gadhoke, President of The Poona Club Ltd, noted that the Poona Club Golf League has grown into a marquee sporting event for members, highlighting the enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and competitive golf witnessed throughout the season. He congratulated Zingers on their well-earned triumph and praised all participating teams for contributing to a highly successful edition.
The tournament also recognised outstanding individual performances. The Most Valuable Players of PGL 2026 were Nitesh Shindey of Aadvani Super Kings (Gold Division), Mahesh Dalvi of Zingers (Silver Division), and Sophia Kim Hyo Sun of Aadvani Super Kings (Bronze Division).
A total of 14 teams and 252 golfers participated in PGL 2026, making it one of the most competitive editions of the league to date.
Representing the title sponsor, Pramod Bakre of Ducati Legacy Motors said that PGL 2026 reflected excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship—values closely aligned with the Ducati brand—and expressed pride in being associated with a league that consistently raises the benchmark for amateur competitive golf.
