A special training program for pre-school teachers and caregivers
Pune, June 22, 2018: Parents entrust Pre-school and childcare for overall development and growth of their child. A special training is must for Pre-school and childcare teachers and caregiversin order to assure that the parents expectations are fulfilled, and their child learns well. But it is often neglected. One such effort and initiative is taken by Early Childhood Association (ECA). The Pune chapter of ECA is hosting the biggest teacher training festival aptly called PIECE -Pune International Early Childhood EDUFEST from June 28-July 1, 2018 at MCCIA ICC Towers Senapati Bapat Road.
Swati Popat Vats, President, ECA expressed, “Having safe, nurturing and stimulating environment is the endeavour of every parent when it comes to Preschool and child care centre. To facilitate the holistic development of toddlers it is imperative to train teachersand caregivers with the best practices and latest trends in education. Through PIECE, we aim to bring the best trainers in the field across the country to share their expertise, knowledge and experiences so that we can all learn from their best practices.”
She further added, “Support staff – maids, nannies, cleaners, drivers and security personnel also interact & handle the toddlers at the facility and require training but often neglected. And it is probably the reason for the much talked about security breach and human rights violation incidents that we hear which needs to be catered at the earliest.”
This four-day event is a platform to promote training and knowledge sharing important relevant to early childhood education issues amongst its stakeholders. Through this fest, ECA plans to bring together the best trainers to teachers, educators and support staff on one common platform. There will be 40 workshops conducted by trainers of national and international repute. This is a non-profit event and registration charges are nominal. There are 1200+ preschools and child care centres in Pune and ECA is targeting an audience of approximately 1000 teachers and staff for the training.
Aditya Tapadia, ECA’s territory head, Pune region stated, “Invitations were rolled out to many trainers and we received overwhelming responses from them. We have chosen the best of the trainers for the workshop. These trainers want to give back good to the society and so will be conducting the session without any professional charges.”
The sessions at EDUFEST will cover varied topics ranging from storytelling to mental health, problem solving and decision making, experiential learning, communication skills, positive behaviour strategies and alike.
Swati Popat Vats, President, ECA, will also conduct a special training and workshop for the upliftment of support staff as they are not too strong to raise their own voice. This session is exclusively for the support staff and will be by prior registration only. The mass training promises to support and empower school teachers, leaders and support staff by spreading awareness about the importance of quality education and safety and security in early years of children.
The Early Childhood Association (ECA) in India was established in June 2011 in Mumbai and is founded by Swati Popat who is also the President of The Podar Education. The vision of the Association is to create a resourceful and common platform for all Preschools, Educators, Students, Parents and the Corporate World. This will be an excellent learning opportunity for all teachers and caregivers from Pune and various other cities. The EarlyChildhood Association advocates and discusses development in the quality in their early years. It comprises of over 6000 active members and is popular in the education centre.
