Only 1000 people to be served Shivbhojan daily in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pune, January 23, 2020: Around 1000 people will be provided food from 7, ‘Shivbhojan’ centers in Pune city and 500 persons from 4 centers in Pimpri Chinchwad. The dish consists of two chapatti of 30 gm, 100 gm of vegetable, 100 gm of dal, and 150 gm rice.

The Shivbhojan scheme will be launched from January 26. Police protection will be provided as per the need for Shivbhojan centers to control the crowd. The state government has decided to provide Shivbhojan at affordable rates for the poor and needy. Citizens will get the thali for only Rs 10.

The committee headed by the district collector has selected 11 centers in both the cities. The center operators are trained. In the first phase, these centers were fixed on a pilot basis, mainly covering government buildings, hospitals and bus stations.

It is forbidden to bring outside food in the restaurant and take out the meal in the restaurant. Also, the food and drug administration (FDA) will be checking from time to time food quality. Instructions have been given by the district administration for use of good quality food materials and the use of stainless steel utensils.

The Rs 10 thali will be served at Shiv Samartha Restaurant at Hadapsar, Hotel Katraj Corner at Katraj bus stop, Swargate bus stand canteen, Hotel Samadhan Canteen at Market Yard, Family Court Canteen at Shivaji Nagar, Hotel Nishigandha at PMC main building, PCMC building canteen, YCM hospital in Pimpri, Vallabhnagar bus stand canteen, Pimpri Chinchwad Navnagar Development Authority canteen.

One beneficiary will be provided with one meal at a time. The Maha Annapurna app has been developed by the Government for daily registration and uploading photo of the beneficiary.
