People stuck in traffic jam for over 2 hours at Bhumkar chowk Nr Hinjawadi in Pune

Pune, September 24, 2019 : The heavy rains today have brought traffic to a standstill at Bhumkar chowk near Hinjawadi on the Katraj-Dehuroad bypass. People complained that they were stuck in the traffic jam for 2-3 hours.
Since Tuesday early morning, there has been heavy rains in different parts of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Many people took to Twitter to complain to the Chief Minister’s office as well as Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari.

Abhishek Mishra posted, “Kudos to the guy in the rain..but can u send someone over to Bhumkar chowk..they really need a few of them.”
Indrajit Patil added, “Extremely heavy traffic on Hinjewadi to Bhumkar Chowk road. Please help, it’s completely blocked.”
Renuka Shahane posted, “Hinjewadi bridge to bhumkar chowk service road totally in water, yet police not alerting the vehicles. Incompetency at its best.”
On the other hand, Adinath Kamode added, “Shame on All these politicians and administration. Roads and areas are designed and developed in such a way that it cant handle water flow.”

@PMOIndia it is due to ur bad policy of not keeping enough space for vehicles to cross under NH4, that it takes 70 mins to cover 10 kms. Bhumkar chowk, wakad continues to suffer. But no action in sight. Do something”

”DCP Sudhir Hiremath of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police said, “Our officer and men from both Traffic and police station are trying their best in the midst of the heavy rains, waterlogging n large no. of potholes.”
