Pune : People read hily books while opposing CAA, NRC and NPR

Pune, 25 January 2020: Citizens from different religions gathered in front of Pune District Collector’s office to read holy books on the sixth day of Satyagrah against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Registration of Citizenship (NRC) and National Population of Register (NPR).

The Ekta Satyagrah was marked by reading Holy books Bible, Quran, Geeta, and Gurbani.

“All the religions talk about humanity as the dharma. Through Ekta Satyagrah they want to show the meaning of equality among each religion and they are one”, said social activist Aslam Isak Bagwan of Incredible Pune Group.

Father Alankar, Father Jain, Harshvardhan, Gurucharan Singh, Hafiz Omar, Asif Bohagawa, etc. Read the Holy Books. The Unity Satyagraha prayer was performed by father Alankar, Hafiz Shoheb, Sachin Allat, Sabir Syed of Maharashtra Ekta Sangha, Sitaram Gangavanai of Bhima Army, Avi Shinde, Sanjay Tekwade, Shabbir Sheikh, and Feroz Rotwale.

Ali Kazmi, Kiran Sheikh, Ayesha Faras, Kavita Tekwade and other citizens were also present during the recitation of Holy Books.

Bagwan further added, “On January 26 even if the District Collector office is closed we will come together to celebrate Republic Day he informed.”

This Satyagraha will be continued until the Chief Minister invites us for a meeting, he added.
