1.21 Lakhs Employees Recruited In IT Sector Amid Coronavirus Pandemic; Highest Recruitment In Last Five Years
New Delhi, 16th August 2021: In the recent pandemic, the top ten IT companies in India held mega recruitment and about 1.21 lakh employees have been recruited in the first semester of the year. This year the IT industry is experiencing the highest number of recruitments in the last five years, as the demand increased for software due to the digitalization process. Therefore it is being said that the Covid-19 pandemic has become a boon for the IT industry.
In 2019, the companies recruited about 45,649 employees in the first semester. It is expected that this year the overall recruitment will go beyond 2 lakhs, experts say.
In a survey conducted by ValueVox for the organization ‘Indeed India’, it has been observed that recruitment in the country grew by 11 percent in the April-June quarter as local restrictions eased in the wake of the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak. A survey report titled ‘Indeed India Hiring Tracker’ has been released by both organizations.
The report says that out of this 11 percent of the IT sector topped the list with 61 percent growth. The financial services sector grew by 48 percent, while the BPO, ITES sector grew by 47 percent.
