1290 new COVID patients in Pune city, 1961 discharged today
Pune, Aug 8, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1961 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured of COVID19 in Pune city today. Also, 1290 new patients were detected while 37 people died today. Today swab samples of 5051 people were collected for COVID tests.
According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 64,576 out of which 46,735 have been cured while 1516 have died. There are still 16,325 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 717 critical patients out of which 443 are on ventilator support.
Across Maharashtra, 3,38,262 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 3.45%. As of today, there are 1,47,048 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 67.26% while the fatality rate in the state is 3.45%. Currently, 9,89,612 people are in home quarantine and 35,625 people are in institutional quarantine. Out of 26,47,020 laboratory samples, 5,03,084 have been tested positive (19%) for COVID-19 until today.
