16-Year-Old Pune Native Mesmerises PM Modi With Her National Anthem Performance In The US

Pune, 25th June 2023: The sixteen-year-old Riya Rahul Pawar enthralled the non-resident Indians (NRI) by performing the National Anthem of the United States at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme in the United States. Prime Minister Modi also applauded Riya, saying that her voice is too good.

 

Riya’s grandparents live in the Pune district’s Walchandnagar. Riya’s parents, who earlier lived in the Rasta Peth, are now settled in America and are currently living in New Jersey. 16-year-old Riya has a beautiful voice and loves to sing. She is interested in Indian classical music as well as Bollywood and Western music.

 

PM Modi was addressing a packed auditorium of Indian Americans who had travelled to America at the Ronald Reagan Centre in Washington, DC. As soon as the Prime Minister came to the dais, the hall echoed with the chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram.

 

After American singer Mary Millben sang the Indian National Anthem, Riya got an opportunity to perform the national anthem of America. Indian citizens in America and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were mesmerised by Rhea’s voice. PM Modi applauded Rhea after her performance.

 

After the event, Riya said, “I am very happy to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am proud to have had the opportunity to perform the national anthem in front of them. His blessings were inspiring to me.”
