Pune, 3rd February 2023: Noted photographer and founder of Red Balloon Samar Singh Jodha stressed on the need for maintaining creativity and keeping a balance along with monetary gains. Jodha was speaking during the 17th Pune Design Festival (PDF), organized by Pune chapter of Association of Designers of India (ADI), at Hotel Hyatt Regency on Pune Ahmednagar Road on Friday in a session titled “Inner Voice versus Creativity”.
“Creativity is not about your comfort zone. Usually in the long-run creativity takes a backseat when it becomes about how to run a business or getting monetary benefits. But it is important to maintain a balance between creativity and monetary gains,” Jodha, who has worked on numerous projects across the world, said.
While taking a dig at the current education system, which is all about performance, Jodha also said that it was important for youngsters to focus on their strengths.
“Self doubt is the biggest nervousness. Everyone has it, especially the youngsters, due to fear, expectations and pressure from society and peers. But it is important to focus on your strengths and also to keep your passion alive,” Jodha elaborated.
Jodha gave his own example of how he overcame failures in his own life and started photography from the age of 13.
His session was followed by the address by Arjun Kurunji, Aditi Agarwal, Pramod Ranjan and Aniket Das, who spoke on various topics in the session titled “Young Change Makers”.
Earlier, the 17th Edition of Pune Design Festival, a two-day event, started with a performance by young music artist Omkar Agnihotri, who presented a special musical performance using “Rezhonium”, a type of Harmonium.
ADI Pune Chapter President Rugved Deshpande, among others was present for the PDF, which is organised with the theme “NXT 25”.The sessions were moderated by Suresh Venkat.
