203 CCTV Cameras To Be Installed On Mumbai-Pune Expressway
Pune, January 21, 2021: A total of 203 CCTV cameras will be installed to control the speed limit of vehicles passing through Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
Traffic rules are violated by drivers while driving on expressways, reckless driving, heavy vehicles moving from one lane to another. It also causes a large number of accidents. In order to control this, the traffic police, in addition to the available manpower, also take action through state-of-the-art ‘interceptor vehicles’ equipped with speed guns, breath analyzers and e-challan systems.
Therefore, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDC) had decided to install 203 CCTV cameras under ‘Highway Traffic Management’ about 15 years ago. This tender process is now being accelerated.
