26 Flood-Prone Areas Identified In Pune And Pimpri-Chinchwad; 84 Villages In Pune District
Pune, 12th May 2022: There are 84 flood-prone villages in the Pune district and the citizens of these villages have been warned by the district administration to remain vigilant. Due to the increasing rainfall in the last few years, the District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh has given orders to the disaster management officials to stay at the headquarters after the arrival of monsoon rains.
The administration has prepared a list of flood-prone villages in the district. It has the highest number of 16 villages in Daund taluka. This is followed by 10 villages in Maval taluka, nine each in Ambegaon and Shirur, seven in Mulshi taluka and three in Bhor. Indapur, Baramati, Khed talukas have one each, two villages in Junnar. Collector Dr Deshmukh has ordered special attention to these villages.
Due to the increase in rainfall in the district, the district administration has prepared a plan for flood-prone villages in the district. As the rainfall has increased, the officials related to disaster management have been ordered to stay at the headquarters.
