New Delhi, 12th May 2022: The Central Government today gave a big relief to the people traveling abroad.

Now such people will be able to take the precautionary dose as per the guidelines of the destination country even before the waiting period of nine months.

The Union Health Ministry’s decision to relax the vigilance dosage norms for foreign-bound travelers is based on the recommendations of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI).

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in a tweet, ‘Indian citizens and students traveling abroad can now take vigilance doses as per the guidelines of their destination country. This new facility will soon be available on the Covin portal.”

The advisory group had last week recommended that those who have to travel abroad can take a precautionary dose of the anti-coronavirus vaccine according to the destination country before the mandatory nine-month gap.
