3 Idiots 2″ Rumors Intensify As Sharman Joshi Opens Up About Rajkumar Hirani’s Ideas
Mumbai, 8th July 2023: Sharman Joshi has recently provided an update on the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film “3 Idiots,” which also featured Aamir Khan and R Madhavan. During a recent interview, Sharman Joshi, who portrayed the character Raju in the original film, shared that the director Rajkumar Hirani has already discussed some ideas regarding the storyline for the sequel. He further emphasized that Hirani is unwilling to compromise on the quality of the plot, raising hopes among the cast and crew for the sequel to materialize soon.
Our discussions have frequently revolved around a few ideas that we had, although they were never thoroughly examined. As you all know, Rajkumar Hirani possesses great potential when it comes to delivering exceptional work in sequels. However, it’s common knowledge that Hirani Sir never compromises on the story, quality, and standards. Therefore, we are all eagerly hoping for it to come to fruition,” Sharman told India Today.
Earlier this year, rumours of a sequel to “3 Idiots” made headlines after Aamir Khan reunited with Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan for an advertisement. Unfortunately, many misunderstood the commercial as an official announcement for “3 Idiots 2.” Reflecting on this incident, Sharman added, “When fans realized it was an ad, they were deeply disappointed. We even received some criticism from fans. Nevertheless, it was genuinely exciting for all of us to come together after a long time. I was also involved in conceptualizing the campaign, and the fact that we had someone willing to invest such a substantial amount of money was truly beautiful.”
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Sharman Joshi has discussed the possibility of a “3 Idiots” sequel. Last month, he told DNA, “Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) sir is aware of the love for the film, and he doesn’t want to let the audience down. He has shared a few ideas with me regarding the sequel. However, when you inquire about it after a few months, he reveals that those ideas didn’t work out.”
“3 Idiots,” released in December 2009, continues to be one of the most beloved movies of all time. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Boman Irani, and Mona Singh in prominent roles. It garnered immense love and went on to earn Rs 400 crore worldwide.
