300 players for 55th Late Babukaka Shirgaonkar Memorial Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament
Pune, May 10, 2024: A total 300 players out of which 173 rated players from all over india will be seen in action at the 55th Late Babukaka Shirgaonkar Memorial Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament which is being organised by Nutan Buddhibal Mandal, Sangliand to be held at Gulmohar Hall, Abhiruchi Mall, Sinhgad road, Pune on 12th May 2024.
Mr. Chidambar Kotibhaskar, VP of Nutan Buddhibal Mandal said that, This tournament is coordinated by JK’S Excellence Chess Academy and recognized by All India Chess Federation and Maharashtra Chess Association will see 300 Chess Players from 10 states which included Maharashtra, Odisha, Chennai, Delhi, Gujrat, Karnataka, Madhyapradesh, Chandigarh,Telangana, Tamilnadu.
Prominent players which included GM Mitrabha Guha(2458), GM Venkatesh MR(2394), IM Sammed Shete(2276), IM Himal Gusain(2215), IM Ritviz Parab(2189), IM Ayush Sharma(2188), IM Sameer Kathmale(2187), IM Vikramaditya Kulkarni(2155), IM Abhishek Kelkar(2137), IM Sai Agni Jeevitesh (2124), FM Suyog Wagh(2268), FM Gaurang Bagwe(1971), FM Ojas Kulkarni(2078), CM Soham Datar(2042), CM Gaurav Zagade(2003) in action making it one of the strongest tournament to be held in Pune.
The tournament will be conducted in the Swiss League Format and will be played in 9th Rounds. The tournament will offer a total prize money of Rs.500000/-. The tournament will be inaugurated at the hands of Mr.Girish Chitale of Chitale Group and Mr.Chandansaheb Shirgaonkar, MD of The Ugar Shugar Works on the 12th May 2024 at 9.00am.
