44 Villages In Pune District Declared COVID-Free: Ajit Pawar

Pune 22 January 2022: The Covid free village campaign successfully implemented by Zilla Parishad (ZP) and Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) in the Pune district is useful and it should be implemented in the Pune division also. The villagers should also participate in it to make their village Covid free through the campaign, appealed by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

He was speaking at the district level inauguration of the Covid free village campaign at Government Rest House. The event was organized in a virtual (online) manner against the backdrop of Covid. The program was organized by ZP President Nirmala Pansare, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, ZP Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad, Shantilal Mutha of BJS were present. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar interacted with the sarpanch of all panchayats joining teleconferencing.

“To prevent the Covid crisis, awards have been announced by the Rural Development Department as an incentive to make villages Covid free. As this initiative, which was implemented in some villages of Pune district in collaboration with BJS, has been successful, members of the Maharashtra State Cabinet will be informed about the program to be implemented at the state level. No venture succeeds with individual effort, it requires a collective effort,” Pawar said.

He expressed the belief that if the women and the youth decide, the village will be free from covid. He congratulated the people’s representatives, officials, employees and villagers of Covid free 44 villages and appealed to the citizens of the district to get vaccinated.

Mutha said that 550 villages in the district have set up a task force to liberate the village and they were guided by BJS. He said that efforts are being made to implement this campaign in all the villages of the district.
