48th STATE SENIOR JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP 2022
Pune, 15th February 2022: Twenty-seven districts along with Krida Prabodhini and Maharashtra State Police (MSP) will be seen in action during the 48th State Senior Judo Championship 2022 at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi-Mhalunge from January 17 to 19.
The championship being conducted by the Maharashtra Judo Association (MJA) assumes importance as the Maharashtra team for the forthcoming Senior Nationals will be selected based on their performance.
MJA General Secretary Sharad Tilak explained that the championship will be held in the Badminton Hall of the complex. Moreover, this year the association has decided to grant permission to the police force (MSP) to participate as an independent team/ unit.
The competition will be held in the men’s and women’ sections in a total of 14 weight groups, wherein each section will have 7 weight categories. All players above the age of 15 are eligible to participate in the men’s section.
Meanwhile, Pune-based Deepak Hole has been appointed Competition Director.
