New Delhi, 20th August 2021: Praanvi Gupta, a six-year-old student studying in Grade 1 in Dubai, UAE, is the world record holder for spelling the ten longest words in the English language within 81 seconds. Last year, her name was recorded in the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records.

On July 18, 2021, we applied for the Guinness Book of Records to recite the name of 195 countries and their capitals in just 4:23 minutes.

When asked how the six-year-old got into setting world records, her mother said that Praanvi has always loved reading books and doing extraordinary things since she was small. She has her own Youtube channel called ‘Learning with Praanvi’ where she keeps uploading new content.

“Once, I wanted to post about the longest word in the Merriam Webster Dictionary. Therefore, Praanvi memorised the 45-letter-long word within a few hours. We saw that she had great potential which we could explore further. We gave her the ten longest words in the English language, she was perfectly pronouncing and spelling them within a week. Later, we worked on her speed and then applied for world record which was well-received and acknowledged,” Praanvi’s mother said.

“When Praanvi first received the ten longest words in English to learn, I was happy to notice that she had memorised all the words very quickly. I motivated her and worked with her on her speed for each word one by one. It was quite challenging for her because of her age but she finally did it and made us very proud,” the six-year-old’s mother said.

When asked about the key to Praanvi’s success, her mother said, “Every child is different and has great potential even when they are toddlers or in their early age. We need to have a tailored approach while seeking our child’s interests to make sure that they can excel in it.”
