Pune/Srinagar, 24th April 2025: Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi confirmed that 657 tourists stranded in Jammu and Kashmir have contacted the Pune District Disaster Control Room amid heightened security following a deadly terror attack in the region. Authorities have coordinated the phased return of 148 tourists to Pune by 27th April, with 11 passengers arriving by flight this morning and 19 more scheduled shortly. Arrivals include 77 tourists on 25th April, 12 on 26th April by air, and 29 by train on 27th April.

The district control room remains in constant communication with all stranded tourists, actively gathering information and facilitating their safe return. This coordinated effort follows the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists and heightened regional tensions. Security forces have since increased patrols and checkpoints across the area, and authorities have urged tourists to remain cautious and comply with safety advisories.

Pune officials continue to monitor the situation closely, ensuring that returning tourists receive necessary support upon arrival.
